Mary Eileen McDonnell is an American actor who has been involved on television, film and on stage. She was born on April 28, 1952. She was awarded an Academy Award nod for the role she played in Dances with Wolves, as Stands With A Fist. Alongside this, McDonnell is well known as Laura Roslin (President of Battlestar Galactica), the wife of the president on Independence Day as well as her main role in Donnie Doom, as his mother. Anders was born and educated in DeForest in Wisconsin and is now based on the west coast of Los Angeles. She graduated in 1993 from DeForest Area High School in DeForest Wisconsin. Then in 1997, she graduated with a bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She graduated in 2001 and received the title of Master of Fine Arts from Rutgers University.
