Anders was born and educated in DeForest in Wisconsin and is now based on the west coast of Los Angeles. She graduated in 1993 from DeForest Area High School in DeForest Wisconsin. Then in 1997, she graduated with a bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She graduated in 2001 and received the title of Master of Fine Arts from Rutgers University.
