Personal highlights for Niykee include being selected by a scout to join Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs, despite the turbulence in the last couple of years. At present, she is a magnet to aspiring producers, she regularly combs through beats that are sent to her and finds that many result in sparking ideas for songs. She says that she can discern if a beat is great in only five minutes. After that, a fresh song may pop up in her head. I go out to my back porch with my guitar and the words just come and usually it's finished in just thirty minutes. Niykee is continuing to improve her skills as a poet and lyricist. Even when I'm not writing in a literal way about what has occurred to me, the trauma of my childhood and loss of my sister being incorporated into my music she says. My songs are inspired by my experiences and I can feel the deeper meaning underneath all of it. It's among the elements that is significant to me.
